Dr. Richard A. Boe Jr. is Fellowship Trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Adult Reconstruction at Resurgens Orthopaedics in the Atlata suburbs with clinics in Austell, Austell, Douglasville, Vinings and West Cobb, GA.
Dr. Boe completed his Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Marshall University School of Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, where he also obtained his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, graduating magna cum laude with University Honors. His accolades include the Dr. Russell P. Seneca Award for Excellence in Surgery and several scholarships.
His leadership roles include serving on the Medical Executive Committee at East-West Surgery Center, the Resurgens Growth Committee, and as a member of the Resurgens Charitable Foundation. He has participated in the Welsh Carson Physician Leadership Development Program.
An active contributor to medical research, Dr. Boe has numerous publications and presentations to his name, covering topics such as soft-tissue balancing in total hip arthroplasty and management of persistent wound drainage after joint arthroplasty. He has presented his work at several prestigious conferences, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting.
Dr. Boe is committed to community service, having organized charity events and volunteered as a team physician and at community outreach clinics.
