Arthritis Management

Dr. Richard Boe provides a range of non-surgical treatments for arthritis, helping patients manage pain and alleviate symptoms without the need for surgery. Among the options he offers are corticosteroid injections, which reduce inflammation and pain, and hyaluronic acid (HA) injections, also known as gel shots, which lubricate the cartilage to ease discomfort. Additionally, Dr. Boe utilizes platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections to accelerate healing by drawing growth factors to the affected joint. Through these innovative treatments, Dr. Boe is committed to helping patients find relief and maintain their joint health.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Injection

Our blood consists of a liquid component known as plasma. It also consists of three main solid components which include the red blood cells (RBCs), white blood cells (WBCs), and platelets. Platelets play an important role in forming blood clots. They also consist of special proteins, known as growth factors, which help with our body’s healing process.

Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate

BMAC is a concentrate of regenerative stem cells obtained from your own bone marrow. Bone marrow is the soft, spongy tissue that is found in the center of bones, including your hip or pelvic bone. Bone marrow is the section of the body where blood is generated. The stem cells from BMAC are specialized cells that are known to replicate themselves into various types of tissues and help to speed up the healing process by boosting the body’s natural healing abilities and promote tissue growth.

Viscosupplementation

Viscosupplementation refers to the injection of a hyaluronan preparation into the joint. Hyaluronan is a natural substance present in the joint fluid that assists in lubrication. It allows the smooth movement of the cartilage-covered articulating surfaces of the joint.

Cortisone Injection

A cortisone injection is a synthetically produced cortisone that is more potent and longer acting than natural cortisone and is used for diagnosis as well as treatment of a variety of musculoskeletal conditions such as tendinopathy, bursitis and arthritis.
